Safety Committee

The Safety Committee shall:

  • develop guidelines for policies and procedures as pertaining to their responsibilities;

  • develop statements of policy as it pertains to the Safety Committee;  
  • regularly oversee the safety of the church, church grounds and, in conjunction with the parsonage tenants, the parsonage buildings and grounds;
  •  
  • work with boards and committees in developing policies as they pertain to the different boards and committees;
  • develop applications for employment, volunteers, outside groups using the church, outside consultants, outside contractors and give input to the interview process.  The committee must maintain in a secure place these confidential records.  These records of employment and/or evaluations should be kept three years after termination;
  • develop disclosure forms as it pertains to incidents of safety problems of the church;
  • develop a “self- inspection checklist” as it pertains to the church, parsonage and grounds.  This inspection should be done periodically.
